OAuth2.0 support for Epson printers and scanners
Summary
Due to security enhancements to Microsoft Exchange Online, the traditional basic authentication method will be discontinued from March 2026. Therefore Epson has added OAuth2.0 authentication to the devices listed below allowing you to continue connecting to Microsoft Exchange Online.
You can now also connect to Outlook.com using the new OAuth2.0 functionality.
To ensure your device is compatible, please update to the latest firmware for your device. This can be downloaded from the support pages of your local Epson site or via www.epson.eu, selecting your country from the initial menu.
What is OAuth2.0?
OAuth2.0 authentication is an authentication method that uses an access token obtained from an authorisation server for authentication. Since the password is not stored on the printer or scanner then it is a more secure method rather than using basic authentication which uses user ID and password.
