Epson Telford is the only European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridge, and textile inks. Quality and innovation is at the heart of everything we do, from our clean room environment to our in-house machinery, design and technology improvements which use our own Epson 6-axis robots.

Epson apprenticeship schemes
Become an Apprentice at Epson Telford, you will be rewarded as you develop your skills and start on the road to building an inspiring career.
There are two development routes within the Company, an Advanced Apprentice scheme and an Undergraduate Development Programme. The choice to join the Advanced Apprentice Scheme or Undergraduate Development Programme will depend on your education level and your interests.
The Advanced Apprentice Scheme runs for four years and it is designed for those who wish to join Epson after taking their GCSEs or A levels.
The Undergraduate Development Programme is designed who want to go to University but may still be unsure of their career choices or area of expertise. You can apply any time after the age of 16.
Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme
Join us as an Advanced Apprentice and you will combine college-based learning with hands-on training gained at our manufacturing site in Telford.
For engineering-based apprenticeships, your first year will be spent at college, learning the engineering basics you’ll need in your role with us. Outside of college term times, you will develop your studies working alongside members of our skilled engineering team. During your second year, you’ll continue to gain practical experience at our site, attending college one day per week whilst you study for further qualifications.
As an Advanced Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to explore many areas of our site such as:
Working within our clean room production environment with both injection moulding machinery, automated production lines, and pillow forming machines, we will look to you to help maximise production efficiencies and support to maintain all associated equipment to ensure production facilities continue to run smoothly.
An awareness of basic tool making skills experiencing; grinding, milling, turning, working with CNC machinery, learning how injection moulding tools are cleaned, repaired and serviced.
Working with vacuum forming machinery, conveyors, box forming, glue and over labelling systems. We will look to you to help maximise production efficiencies and support to maintain all associated equipment to ensure production facilities continue to run smoothly.
Dealing with all buildings and plant equipment maintenance, hands on jobs from basic maintenance and repair to refurbishment and support on capex projects.
You will experience forefront technology, having exposure to robotics, PLC controls, HMI and design, being part of a team that designs and innovates our production processes.
WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
Together with invaluable commercial and professional experience, you’ll also gain a number of academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time us, which are fully paid for by us. These include:
Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (route specific)
Non-engineering Advanced Apprenticeships, subject to Company needs, there may be other opportunities for non-engineering apprenticeships in Accounting, Purchasing, Human Resources and Planning. There would be tailored training for these posts, for example, AAT training, CIPS or CIPD.
WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY?
To apply for the Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme, you’ll need Maths and English Language GCSE C Grade or above (Grade 4-9) or an academic equivalent.
In addition, you will need three GCSEs (or equivalent) which, for an engineering apprenticeship, should include a Natural Science, Engineering or Technology related subject at C Grade or above (or equivalent).
As an Advanced Apprentice you will earn a competitive salary.
We will also pay your tuition, course fees, and in year one all travel expenses. We will also offer you all the support and mentoring you need. Holiday allowance of 31 days (inclusive of Bank holidays).
Undergraduate Development Programme
Join us on the Undergraduate Development Programme and you will be able to gain work experience whilst you attend college and then onto University to complete your degree. You will gain hands-on training gained at our manufacturing site in Telford. During your first year on the Undergraduate Development Programme you will spend time within each area of the business, working alongside departmental Managers and specialists, giving you an insight in to each business area and enabling you to make a more effective career choice. You will be paid for each hour you spend onsite, working around your college or University study days. You will also receive a travel allowance.

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
You will gain invaluable knowledge and experience of each process within a Manufacturing Business which will enable you to make a more appropriate University degree and career choices.
In addition, we will support you through the University application process and support you on projects whilst at University. You will be appointed an onsite mentor. We will offer you a paid placement year on site.
On successful competition of your degree we will refund your course fees and offer you a fulltime employment contract. There will be a decreasing clawback in the contract if you leave our employment within a set time period.

WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY?
To apply for the Undergraduate Development Programme, you’ll need Maths and English Language A ‘Level A-C or an academic equivalent and to be achieving or have achieved grades consistent with being able to secure an offer to study at a company-approved University or College.
You will earn a competitive salary. Your salary will increase every year, providing that you continue to perform well. Upon completion of the scheme, you can expect to be earning a competitive salary. We will also offer you all the support and mentoring you need, travel allowance and 31 days’ holidays a year (including bank holidays).
