1. Why does Epson offer the Cartridge Collection and Recycling Program?
Epson is committed to reducing environmental impact and supporting a circular economy. By collecting and recycling used cartridges, Epson prevents them from going to landfill, ensures valuable materials are recovered, and promotes more sustainable printing practices.
2. Is there any cost to participate in the program?
No. The program is free of charge for customers.
3. What kind of ink cartridge can be collected and recycled using the cartridge collection and recycling program?
This ink cartridge recycling program accepts only Epson genuine ink cartridges.
The following ink cartridges can be recycled using the program:
Epson inkjet cartridges
Large format printer (LFP) cartridges
Toner cartridges
Epson Catalina inkjet cartridges
Epson ColorWorks cartridges
Epson LabelWorks cartridges
RIPS pouches
The following cartridges are not accepted:
UV ink pouches and bottles
Non-genuine Epson ink cartridges
Full ink cartridges containing expired ink
EcoTank bottles
4. Can maintenance tanks be returned through this program?
Yes, maintenance tanks can be returned via this program. Please select maintenance box from the drop down. From here, you can order our medium box for your return. The current box dimension is 290 x 290 x 467mm (L x W x H).
You can also use your own box to return the maintenance boxes using the label provided.
5. Can I recycle my Pineapple or Chilli ink cartridges using this program?
No. Pineapple and Chilli cartridges are not accepted as part of the Cartridge Collection and Recycling Program. These cartridges are refillable and are supplied with a separate return envelope, which should be used for their return.
6. What are the dimensions of the recycling boxes?
The dimensions for the boxes are:
Box Size 1: 290 x 290 x 467mm (L x W x H)
Box Size 2: 450 x 450x 720mm (L x W x H)
7. What are the dimensions for the return envelope?
The dimension of each envelope is 115 x 140 x 40mm (L x W x H). The maximum number of cartridges to be placed in the envelopes is 4.
8. How long does it take to receive a recycling box once ordered?
Typically, boxes are delivered within 3 – 5 business days after the order is placed. Delivery times may vary by country.
9. How do I prepare the cartridges before placing them in the box?
Place the empty cartridges into the envelope/box provided. Please ensure they are securely packed to prevent leaks. Avoid overfilling the envelopes/boxes.
10. Can I use my own box to return my cartridges?
Yes. If you choose to use your own box, please ensure that it secure and capable. Please use the return label provided by Epson.
11. What should I do if my recycling box arrives damaged?
If the box arrives damaged or unusable, please do not use it. Contact Epson Customer Support to request a replacement box.
12. Can individuals (not companies) participate in the program?
Yes. The program is open to both business and private customers.
13. Can I return other printer-related waste, such as cables or devices, through this program?
No. The program is limited to Epson cartridges, pouches, and maintenance tanks.
