Description

Apple AirPrint icon

AirPrint is Apple's technology for wireless printing from iOS devices to AirPrint-enabled printers, without needing to install a printer driver. No software or setup is required — documents, photos, and emails can be printed directly to any AirPrint-enabled Epson printer. Requires a wireless internet connection.

Solution

How Do I Use AirPrint?

See Apple's own instructions at support.apple.com/kb/HT4356.

Which Applications Are Supported by AirPrint?

Safari, Mail, and Photos.

Which Paper Size Does AirPrint Support?

This depends on the app you're printing from:

  • Mail and Safari: A4 Plain Paper
  • Photos: 4×6" Premium Glossy Photo Paper

Why Is "Enable AirPrint" Greyed Out in Web Config?

AirPrint is activated by default on inkjet printer models, so the button is greyed out — this is normal. It only becomes clickable (and appears blue) if AirPrint has been deactivated, which happens if any of the following have been disabled: IPP (Internet Printing Protocol), Paper Setup Auto Display, or the Bonjour protocol.

A Blank Page Prints When I Print a Multi-Page Word Document

Convert the document to PDF and try again.

Colour Looks Different When Printing Multiple Copies of the Same Photo

This is an iOS restriction — print the photos individually to get correct colour reproduction each time.

I Can't Update My Printer's Firmware to Use AirPrint

Make sure there are no errors on the printer's control panel and no memory card is inserted. If an error is shown, see your product's User's Guide to resolve it first.
