Epson Product Cleaning Guide

Description

Epson printer products are designed to be used in various environments and, during normal operation, are subject to being touched and interacted with. In certain circumstances (e.g. infection control needs) it may be necessary to take additional measures to clean or disinfect the product. The procedure below is recommended in addition to the normal cleaning procedures in the Epson technical reference or user guide, as a temporary solution for cleaning and disinfecting external surfaces.

Tip: For additional information on cleaning or disinfecting procedures, refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and recommendations.

Recommended Cleaning Method

  • Disconnect the power cord before cleaning.
  • Apply a small amount of approximately 70% Isopropyl Alcohol to a soft cloth. Do not use undiluted Isopropyl Alcohol.
  • Gently wipe down the outer surface of the product.
  • Allow the product to dry before reconnecting the power cord.

Do Not

  • Do not spray cleaners directly onto the product.
  • Do not use saturated, soaked, or dripping wet material to clean the product.
  • Do not get liquid inside the unit — be especially careful not to get liquid past the edge of the scanner glass.
  • Do not clean the product while it is turned on.
  • Do not use abrasive substances or abrasive cleaning materials (e.g. scouring pads) to clean the product.
Note: Cleaning using the method above will not affect print or scan quality. The texture, colour, or silk-screen printing on the product's outer case may be affected over multiple and long-term uses of this method.
