Epson iPrint for iOS is an app developed by Epson that enables users to print photos directly from their Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch device. Fast and easy-to-use, the app offers the convenience of high-quality photo printing without a PC. iPrint is compatible with most Epson Wi-Fi and Ethernet enabled printers, including the Epson Stylus Photo, Office and WorkForce Pro ranges.

Just download and install this free app, and you're ready to print photos as well as scan over your home or small office network. You can also scan and save files to your device. Epson iPrint for iOS is compatible with the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Document Printing

    Document printing enables you to print PDF documents, and Office documents to your printer using Epson iPrint Version 3.0.

    Note:

    In some unusual instances Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, may not display and print correctly. If this happens then please convert the document to the PDF format and try to reprint.


  3. Does Epson iPrint Version 3.0 support iWorks and is it able to launch iWorks like some other iOS Apps?

    Epson iPrint Version 3.0 does not support iWorks. It is not possible to open iWorks documents or launch iWorks from within Epson iPrint Version 3.0.


  4. Is it possible to manually enter the printer IP address?

    Printers are found and displayed automatically. It is not possible to enter a manual IP address.


  5. How do I print a saved document?

    You can print saved documents that have been synced with iTunes.

    Photo printing enables you to print photos or images, which are saved on your iOS device.

    The maximum number of photos that can be selected at one time is 30.


Printing a Web Page

  1. What is Web Page Print?

    Web page printing enables you to print a specified URL from within Epson iPrint Version 3.0.


  2. What functions are available in Web Page Print?

    The following functions can be performed through Web Page Print:

    • Input a URL
    • Store a displayed URL as a bookmark
    • Select and display a bookmarked URL
    • Delete a bookmarked URL
    • Store, display and delete a URL from browsing history

  3. What restrictions exist for Web Page Print?
    • The function to display a URL depends upon the browser of each OS (operating system).
    • You can’t print directly from a browser window. You must open iPrint version 3.0, enter the URL and then print from this screen.

  4. Is there a limitation on the number of bookmarks that can be created in iPrint Version 3.0?

    Yes, a maximum of 10 Bookmarks can be saved.


  5. Is there a limitation on the amount of entries found in the browser history?

    Yes, a maximum of 10 entries at any one time are kept in the browser history. As new entries appear, the oldest entry is deleted. Browser history is displayed in the order of newest to oldest, with the current open URL displayed with a tick against it.


Printing scanned data

  1. What is the Scan function?

    The scan function allows you to search for an All in one product on the same network as your mobile device. Once found you can then scan to your local device or to an online storage space.


  2. How do I setup my all in one scanner with Epson iPrint version 3.0?
    1. In order to setup a scanner, you must tap on the Scan option from the main menu and then tap the Settings button to go to the scan settings screen.
    2. Once the scanner has been found by Epson iPrint version 3.0 the scanner's name is displayed.
    3. Epson iPrint version 3.0 searches for an all in one on the same network as your mobile device. If multiple all in one product’s are found on the same network, a list of all the found devices is displayed.
    4. If a scanner is not found, "Scanner Not Found" is displayed. If you tap the scan button at this point, a scanner error will occur.
    5. The scanner search will timeout after 30 seconds if no devices are found.
    6. ADF option.

    Note:

    • An Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) option will be displayed only when a device with ADF is connected.
    • When using the ADF, the ADF will automatically and continuously feed and scan the loaded documents.
    • The ADF supports a maximum number of 30 sheets of plain paper.


  3. Which scan settings can I adjust?

    You are able to make changes to the following settings:

    1. Resolution 75dpi, 150dpi, 300dpi
    2. Image type Colour, Greyscale, Black & White
    3. Source Document table, ADF
    4. 2-sided Scanning. Depending on a specification of the scanner.
    5. Brightness 0 to 255
    6. Gamma 1.0, 1.8

Print Settings

  1. What are print settings?

    Print settings allow the control of the printer's functions in iPrint version 3.0.

    • Search for printer: This option searches for a nearby printer
    • Paper Size: This is dictated by the selected printer
    • Media type: This is dictated by the selected printer
    • Layout: Choose from Border, Borderless, CD/DVD Label.
    • Print Quality: Draft, Standard, Best. These options are dictated by the printer.
    • Paper Source: Cassette, Rear Manual Feed (Local Printer) Automatic (Remote Printer)
    • Copies (Maximum of 30)

  2. Advanced Settings include:
    • Colour: Select Colour or Monochrome
    • Brightness Adjust the brightness of the document
    • Contrast Adjust the contrast of the document
    • Saturation Adjust the Saturation of the document
    • Date Print Yes or No. (Local Printer: This only applies to printing photos)
    • Page Range Select a print page range. (Not applicable to photo printing)

Online Storage

  1. What is Online Storage?

    Online Storage enables you to print/scan documents and images from and to online storage providers. i.e. Dropbox.


  2. How do I open an image file which is saved locally on your mobile device?
    1. Select the folder where your image is saved.
    2. Display the files in the folder.
    3. Select the image you want to open.

  3. How to open an image file which is saved on a network storage server?
    1. Select the network storage service where the image file is saved.
    2. Enter your network storage service account information.
    3. Select the image you want to open.
    4. Display a list of saved files in a store folder.

  4. I receive the error “General error” when trying to sign in to Google Docs.

    Ensure that your mobile device has internet access.


Maintenance

  1. What is the Maintenance function?

    The maintenance function enables you to do the following:

    1. Add a printer (Local or Remote)
    2. Check printer status (Local Printer Connection only)
    3. Head Cleaning (Local Printer Connection only)
    4. Nozzle Check (Local Printer Connection only)
    5. Check remaining ink levels. (Local Printer Connection only)

Error messages


No scanner found
  • Confirm that the all in one and the mobile device are connected to the same network.
  • Confirm that the product model selected in Epson iPrint version 3.0 settings corresponds to product model you are trying to use.
Communication error
  • Confirm that the all in one and the mobile device are connected to the same network.
  • Confirm that the product model selected in Epson iPrint version 3.0 settings corresponds to product model you are trying to use.

Out of memory error

The process is aborted due to lack of memory.


General error

Confirm the scanner state


Scanner cover open error

Close the scanner cover.


Paper jam

Remove any remaining jammed paper by hand.


Paper out or not loaded correctly

Reload the paper correctly in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and press the paper button (or maintenance button).


No Printer found

Confirm the network settings for your product, ensuring it is shown on the network. Additionally ensure the product is powered on.


General Error

Delete all print jobs and turn the printer off. Remove any foreign objects from inside the product. After a few minutes, turn the printer back on.


Printer cover error

Ensure the printer cover is closed on your product.


Paper Jam

Clear any visible paper jams from the product.


Ink out

Replace the ink cartridge. Epson recommends the use of genuine ink.


Out of Paper

Reload paper ensuring all paper adjustment levers are set correctly and press the paper/maintenance button on the product.


Incorrect Paper Source settings

Make sure the loaded paper and printer settings match.


Ink cover open

Check the ink cover is closed on the product, to clear this message


CD/DVD Tray not set correctly

Ensure the CD/DVD tray is in the loaded, or in the correct position before beginning.


Cassette tray is not installed correctly

Ensure the paper cassette tray is installed correctly, and then press the start button on the product.


Media Tray not loaded correctly

Load a sheet of paper of the correct size, short edge first and press the paper/maintenance button on the product. If the paper does not feed correctly, repeat this process until it does.


Ink cartridges not recognised

Epson recommends the use of genuine Epson ink cartridges.


Scanner unit open

Ensure the scanner unit is closed


CD/DVD Tray in use

Ensure the CD/DVD Tray is closed.


Communication error

Check the product cable connection and make sure the product is switched on. If the printer was switched off during printing, cancel the print job. If the error does not clear please consult your product’s documentation.


CD/DVD not set correctly

Reload the CD/DVD tray, and then press the CD tray button on your product.
