How to uninstall a printer in Windows 2000 and XP

This article explains how to uninstall an Epson printer driver from Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Notes Icon Note:

By uninstalling the printer driver, you can no longer print to it, until you install the printer driver again.

To uninstall an Epson printer driver from Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you need to remove EPSON Printer Software from the Add or Remove Programs.

  1. Double-click on the My Computer icon on your Desktop. Then double-click on Control Panel:

    1. In Windows XP this is located on the left-hand side under Other Places.

    2. Alternatively the Control Panel can also be accessed by clicking onto Start > Control Panel.

  2. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs:

  3. This will now display a list of all the programs installed on your computer. Click on EPSON Printer Software, and then click Change/Remove.

  4. Click on the printer you would like to uninstall, and then click OK.

  5. Click Yes in answer to each prompt that appears, for example:

    Uninstall prompt 3

  6. The Epson Printer Utility prompts you when the uninstall process has finished. Click OK:

  7. Restart your computer to complete the uninstall process.
