Image Capture cannot find my product that is connected with a USB connection. What should I do?

This may happen if Epson Scan is installed. Currently there is a compatibility issue with Epson Scan and Image Capture. Try the following:

  • Reset TWAIN devices in Image Capture. Follow the instructions below for your product type.

  1. Open Image Capture, then select File > Reset TWAIN devices.
  2. Close Image Capture.
  3. Turn off your product.
  4. Open the Alternate Text menu, then select System Preferences.

  5. Select Printers & Scanners

  6. Select your printer, then click Alternate Text to remove the printer.

  7. Restart your Mac.
  8. Turn on your product.
