How to use Mopria Print Service to print using Amazon Kindle devices running Fire OS 5

What is Mopria?

Mopria is a set of standards that enable printing from a mobile device to printers from different manufacturers or brands.

The Mopria Print Service provides a universal print driver that converts the data to be printed to the appropriate file type required by the printer.

How do I know if my Kindle Fire device is using Fire OS5

  1. On the Home screen, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Settings.
  2. In the Settings app, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Device Info.
  • If the firmware version is above 5 the Mopria Print Service will be used.
  • If the firmware version is below 5 then Epson Print Plug-In will be used, click here for more infomation.

How do I use the Mopria Print Service?

  1. Select the Print command from the app’s menu.
  2. Note:

    Where the print command is located can vary between applications.


  3. Once the print preview screen has opened, tap printer name in the upper left corner.
  4. This will display all available printers that are supported by the Mopria Print Service.
  5. Tap on your printer in the list.

How can I check whether Mopria Print Service is installed?

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps & Games then tap Manage All Applications.
  3. Tap All.
  4. If Mopria Print Service is listed then it is installed on the device.
