There appears to be no power to my printer, scanner or All-In-One. What can I do?
The scanner does not power/turn on.
AC adapter power supply issues.
Epson Scanner range.
If it appears that no power is being supplied to the product, follow the steps below to try to resolve the issue and determine if there is a problem with the scanner's hardware:
Check for a power light or any other lights on the product
A green light indicates that there is power to the product and is ready for operation.
If a red or amber Start light is displayed then this indicates that there is a problem with the product which is preventing it from operating. Attend to this first.
If there are no lights displayed on the product, follow the steps below, checking for power to the scanner after each step
Check that the power socket switch is on.
Make sure your product's power cord is securely connected to the scanner and a working electrical outlet.
If your product is supplied with a power adapter, make sure your scanner's AC adapter is securely connected to the scanner and a working electrical outlet.
Make sure that the power outlet works. (If necessary, test it by plugging in another electrical device and turning it on.)
Check that the power switch is on at the mains socket. If this is on, carefully check the power cable to ensure it is not damaged and remove then reseat it before attempting to turn the scanner on again.
If your product has a power button, make sure that the button is depressed so it is turned on.
Make sure that your outlet works and is not controlled by a wall switch or timer.
Power off the product at the mains socket. Unplug the power cable from the socket, then remove and reseat the power cable from the product's power cable port. Plug the scanner back in at the mains and ensure the socket is switched on.
If your product has a power button, make sure it is turned on. (Refer to the products user guide for more infomation.)
Does the product make a noise when you power it on?
If the product's power or Start light does not illuminate when you power the scanner, first check for any other response from the unit, such as the start-up noise, as the LED may have blown.
If your product has a power button, does the power button depress when pressed?
Press down firmly on the power button, if it is stiff and does not depress then there may be a problem with the button.
Connect the product directly to the mains - not via a surge protector or extension lead
If your unit is connected via a surge protector or a power strip/extension lead, connect the unit directly to the mains socket
Try another suitable power cable
Check that other electronic devices connected to same power socket have power and try another mains socket and another power cable if necessary. Failing this try another suitable and known-working power cable. Depending on your product, a standard "kettle lead" or "figure of eight" power cable is used. If there is power to the product (indicated by an illuminated Start/Power light), when a different power cable is used, then the fault is with the original power cable.
If the unit does not power on after following the checks above, contact Epson for support. If your scanner uses an AC adapter, then this may need to be replaced. If your product is over 12 months old, you can purchase a replacement AC adapter directly from Epson.
