Scanning to a folder is failing since the latest Windows update

As a result of a Windows security update. You may experience the following issues.

Issue:

After the latest windows updated in January 2019 scanning to a shared folder within Windows fails

Affected Windows versions:

  • Windows 7
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Server 2008 R2

Solution:

As a temporary workaround for this issue, please use either a local Windows user account that is not part of the local Administrators group or any domain user.
