As Manchester United’s Official Office Equipment Partner, Epson is proud to support the club and this partnership.
Epson is 100% behind the club, and is already enjoying watching Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, David de Gea and the club’s new signings playing under Manager José Mourinho this season.
When you explore both sides of the partnership, you can see why it is such a perfect fit. Epson and Manchester United have many similarities inherent to their brands. In short, we both share the vision and desire to excite and inspire our fans and customers by providing real value at every turn.
It’s been an exciting time since Epson began its partnership with Manchester United. The official
announcement was made just before a 7-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, 27 November 2010,
which saw Manchester United extending their English League title wins to 19.
On Wednesday 8 May 2013, Sir Alex Ferguson announced that he was to retire as manager at the end of the season, but has remained at the club as a director and club ambassador. Following seasons with David Moyes and Louis van Gaal at the helm, 2016/2017 saw the return of Jose Mourinho to the Premier League, as manager of Manchester United.
And it’s been an eventful time off the pitch as well, with Epson holding competitions and events that have given fans and partners across Europe and around the world the opportunity to get closer to one of the world’s most famous football clubs.
Experiences have ranged from offering fans the chance to watch the team play at Old Trafford to once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Since 2010, Epson and Manchester United have staged a series of joint events off the pitch. You can find out more about some of these events here.
Entrants had to submit a football-themed image that showcased their skills with a camera. There were 16 winners from across Europe in the first round; they were invited to the club and each received an Epson Stylus Pro R3000 photo printer.
On Friday, 4 November 2011, each country winner and a guest of their choice travelled to Manchester to stay at the Lowry Hotel. They visited the Aon Training Complex, met the players, had the opportunity to take photos of the players in action, and enjoyed a two-hour masterclass with club photographer John Peters.
On Sunday, 8 April 2012, a selection of Epson’s partners and end users were able to ‘live like a player’ through this exclusive Manchester United experience. The winners visited the Aon Training Complex to watch the first team train, and took part in a Manchester United Soccer Schools session.
They were then taken on a private stadium tour of Old Trafford and enjoyed hospitality at the club while watching Manchester United take on Queens Park Rangers.
The winners stayed at the five-star Lowry Hotel and, to add some additional excitement, were followed around by a ‘paparazzi’ photographer; Manchester United’s very own Frank Wilson.
The Grand Final of the Epson Gaming Challenge took place 24-25 January 2013. Following eight gaming tournaments across Europe in December 2012, Kai Wollin from Germany was crowned Epson’s Ultimate Gamer.
Nine gamers (whittled down from 72) took part in the Epson Gaming Challenge Grand Final, and came from the UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Sweden. Each contestant was flown to Manchester, and their trip contained a number of highlights, including a tour of Old Trafford, a go-karting competition, and an evening meal at former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand’s restaurant Rosso.
Manchester United Legend Andrew Cole compered the gaming final. Guests got to chat to Andrew about his experiences playing for Manchester United and posed for photos. Five Manchester United players took part and each guest played EA Sports’ FIFA 13 against their idols.
In March 2013, Epson’s customers were invited to post their best sporting memory photos on Epson’s Facebook pages in France, Spain, Germany, the UK, Italy, Benelux and Nordics. The winners from each territory received a VIP sporting weekend in Manchester, as well as an Expression Premium XP-600 printer.
The prize included three nights in a five-star hotel, trips to VIP restaurants and nightspots in Manchester, an exclusive behind-the-scenes chance to watch the Manchester United first team train, a tour of Old Trafford and attendance at the Manchester United versus Reading Game on Saturday, 16 March.

There were 12 teams originating from 15 countries throughout Europe, Asia and South America. The players also enjoyed fantastic evening entertainment across the weekend.
Epson UK offered the match mascot opportunity to its official charity partner, The Essex
& Herts Air Ambulance Trust. Lewis (the Mascot) and his cousin Oliver took a penalty
against ‘Fred The Red’, the Manchester United mascot, at half-time. Epson provided a
script and information on the Charity for Alan Keegan (the stadium announcer) to read
before the match and at half-time.
An article was placed on Epson’s UK website and also received local press coverage in the East Anglian Daily Times and About My Area.
In March 2016, Epson asked Manchester United fans to Tweet their own words of inspiration to the Manchester United team.
Five finalists were selected and their tweets turned into beautifully designed posters, which were signed by the team.

In April 2016, Epson customers from across Eastern Europe were invited to attend the Epson Ultimate Manchester United Experience.

Guests received tickets to the Everton F.C. game and five lucky competition winners were invited to take penalties on the pitch during the half time break.
