Tracking good practices: label printing traQ’food

traQ’food chooses LabelWorks LW-600P

In 2013, Rudy Hattab launched his traQ’food project. A tool that allows restaurant owners to monitor and ensure the quality of their products on a daily basis. A veritable hygiene partner of food service and catering professionals.

A response to European requirements

Created in July 2016, the traQ’food application allows restaurant owners to respond easily and efficiently to the majority of the European health requirements.

The traQ’food tool enables real-time and daily monitoring of product quality, food traceability and respect of the cold chain, as well as of the establishment's stock and cleanliness.

So far, almost 500 catering sector operators have chosen the traQ’food application.

To make this daily management easier, traQ’food also recommends that its clients equip themselves with tools that complement the application, such as Epson's LabelWorks LW-600P label printer.

This printer enables restaurant owners to print traceability labels – a task that is essential in ensuring that the health management requirements are respected.

After opening a product, the shelf life is no longer the date originally indicated on the packaging; it's another date, called the secondary shelf life. To respect the health rules, a restaurant owner must be able to display the secondary shelf life on each product being used.

Epson LabelWorks label printers allow restaurant owners to print labels to stick to foodstuffs from a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. These labels can contain up to seven pieces of information, such as the name of the product, its category and brand, location in the fridge and the secondary shelf life.

Today, around 200 traQ’food application users have an Epson LabelWorks label printer.

The search for a solution that meets the challenges of catering environments

"Initially, we didn't know about Epson's LabelWorks range and its features. We became interested in the LabelWorks LW-600P label printer during our search for a device that is easy to use and capable of a Bluetooth connection – not just WiFi like other products," explains Rudy Hattab, Founder and CEO of traQ’food.

Another strength of the LabelWorks LW-600P and LW-1000P label printers is their versatility: "The portability that they offer because of their size is very attractive. These printers are perfectly suited to our customers' professional environment."
