LabelWorks helps School No. 5 optimise inventory management
Simple functionality makes the LabelWorks LW-400 invaluable
With the modern school having to pay more attention to maintaining a steady and organised flow of work, solutions to simple problems such as inventory management are needed. School No.5’s purchase of the LabelWorks LW-400 label maker has proved to be a turning point in making its inventory easier to manage. An introduction to School No.5
School No.5, situated in Yubileyniy, Russia, is a multi-disciplinary institution that for almost 40 years has provided a high level of training and development in universal systems of knowledge, and cultural and personal development. The high standards of education and training available to the pupils are made possible by a combination of factors: the professionalism of the teachers, the fruitful and creative atmosphere at the school and a good technological foundation.
Natalia Valentinovna Sizonenko, a primary school teacher at School No.5, says: "Today’s teacher has to pay attention to the general organisation and optimisation of workflow; it is the foundation of effective teaching. Teaching and methodological aids, hand-outs, and classroom atmosphere all affect how well knowledge is absorbed, and if students and parents trust the educational institution."LabelWorks proves its worth
School No.5 recently acquired the portable LabelWorks LW-400 label maker to label equipment. The school primarily uses it to make numbered inventory labels for classroom furniture, equipment, and sockets and switches as required by the fire service.
Natalia explains: "The LabelWorks LW-400 has already become an indispensable tool. Since the inventory numbers are printed on the tape they are not only durable but look neat and modern too. Prior to buying the device we had to use felt markers, but the numbers were always quickly erased meaning they had to be re-labelled. Now, the label text is clear, bright, durable and cannot be erased by physical contact. Everything in the design of the LabelWorks LW-400 is well thought out, and it is convenient and pleasant to work with."
The printer weighs just over 400g and fits easily in your hand. It is easy to use thanks to its ergonomic buttons and built-in keyboard, shortcut buttons that allow the user to quickly activate printing and cutting, and the memory function can store up to 50 layouts. The user can always check how much tape is left by checking the special window on the top of the device.
The LabelWorks LW-400 can print up to four lines, offers up to eight standard barcodes and supports up to 14 fonts, five type sizes, 457 symbols, 87 frames and 10 styles, including bold, italic, underlined and shadowed. The layout of the label is easy to see on the screen, even in sunny weather or in the dark, thanks to the screen's backlight.
Users can choose from various sizes of tapes (6mm, 9mm, 12mm and 18mm), available in standard, black, transparent, high-adhesion, and iron-on textile for adhesion to cloth using an iron, or opaque tape for writing on. The tapes are available in a number of colours, including fluorescent and pastel shades. There are also some unique tape variants such as glow-in-the-dark, reflective and tapes with increased resistance to high temperatures. All Epson tapes are durable and resistant to a multitude of moisture and temperature conditions.
