Get ready for a subscription-free print service

Consumers can now take advantage of a new pay-as-you-go print service with no monthly subscription fees offered by retailers and powered by Epson technology; ReadyInk. Registered users will never have to worry about running out of ink, plus they’ll only be charged for new ink when it’s issued.

Massimo Pizzocri, vice president of consumer sales, Epson Europe, says, “Running out of ink is very frustrating and we don’t want anyone to be put in that position so we now have two different solutions. Our EcoTank printer is really popular as it does a great job at solving this issue, while also offering an ultra-low cost per page as it comes bundled with a high quantity of ink. Additionally for cartridge models, ReadyInk technology has made it possible for retailers and resellers to now offer a new service; with Epson’s technology monitoring ink usage, it is possible to trigger notifications for the customers’ retailer or reseller to issue new ink cartridges. It’s super convenient and means the end user can enjoy a subscription-free service, that only charges if and when a new cartridge is needed. With our retailers and resellers now able to offer ReadyInk and EcoTank, there’ll be a solution for every customer.”

For a hassle-free experience, ReadyInk technology monitors ink usage so that it can intelligently predict when ink is needed. The retailer that sold the original printer manages the delivery of a new cartridge to provide a seamless and stress-free service.

Each retailer and reseller can personalise the service in their own way to offer the very best experience for their customers. The options available may include special offers, add-on purchases, and choosing how to receive your notifications.

Modern and convenient, this solution to purchasing ink also ensures that the customer benefits from Epson’s high-quality genuine ink cartridges. The user can be confident that the printer will work in harmony with the ink and depend upon it for high-quality prints. It’s a great way to avoid the pitfalls that some remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can cause such as paper jams, unreliable yields, smudges and inaccurate colours.

Epson retailers and resellers will offer their ink replenishment services using Epson’s ReadyInk technology. Customers can register to the service through the retailer or reseller that they purchased their printer with. The ReadyInk technology is applicable for almost all of Epson’s inkjet printers.

The ReadyInk service will be available from September 29, 2017.
