Epson SureColor SC-S eco-solvent printers ranked #1 in Europe
Epson is very pleased to announce that its SureColor SC-S Series of wide-format printers is now the top selling eco-solvent technology in its class in Western Europe. Independent research conducted by Infosource shows that Epson grew market share for these printers from 5th place with just over 9% in 2015, to a league-topping 28.4% by the end of 2016.
This success follows the launch of a new generation of 64-inch width Epson SureColor SC-S printers in January 2016 - the SureColor SC-S80600, SC-S60600 and SC-S40600 - which gives users the choice of 4-10 colours (including white and metallic) and up to 95.3sqm/hr single-pass productivity. Featuring Epson’s permanent PrecisionCore TFP printheads with variable size ink droplet technology, delivering consistent 1440 x 1440 dpi output. As a result, the range can create stunning results on a range of coated and uncoated substrates for indoor/outdoor signage, display graphics, posters and backlit panels, POS materials, vehicle wraps, wallpaper and photo canvases. Since launch these printers have generated considerable interest from companies looking for technology that delivers quality, productivity, flexibility, ease of use and rapid ROI in one complete package.
“We are delighted that the SureColor SC-S has become the market leader in Europe so quickly,” says Marc Tinkler, Head of Product Marketing, Professional Printing Solutions, Epson Europe. “We are fully committed to the ongoing development of our wide-format SureColor printers, and this proves that our technology meets the stringent demands of Print Service Providers in busy production environments. Backed by considerable investment in R&D1 Epson’s strategy is to become the world’s leading supplier of inkjet printers regardless of the market and our aim is to provide the best combination of printer and ink technology to deliver high quality, superb reliability and the best all-round return on investment for the broadest range of professional print applications.”
Alongside its innovative PrecisionCore printhead technology, Epson’s ink technology is an important part of every Epson professional print production solution. Today, Epson is the only company to develop and manufacture the full range of aqueous, solvent, resin, UV, dye sublimation and textile inks. As a result, every component of an Epson solution – hardware, printhead, ink and software – is optimised to deliver the best possible performance.
The Epson SureColor SC-S printers, alongside models from the SC-T (aqueous) and SC-F (dye-sublimation) ranges, will be demonstrated at Sign & Digital UK (Booth C30, NEC Birmingham, 28-30 March 2017), FESPA Digital 2017 (Booth A1-D45, 8-12 May, Hamburg) and The Print Show (Booth G05, Telford International Centre, 11-13 October 2017).
Epson spends £1.2m a day (approximately 6% of annual turnover) on R&D to drive innovation and new technology, ink and product development for consumer, business, professional print, government, medical, finance and retail markets across the world.
