Epson launches three new six-colour Wi-Fi photo printers

Epson has announced three new six-colour printers in its Expression Photo range. All three are designed for photo lovers looking for an advanced printer the entire household can use. Designed to produce superior-quality and long-lasting photographs in 10 seconds1, and with all offering Wi-Fi connectivity, the new Expression Photo range includes mobile printing options, multiple paper trays, scanning, duplex printing and touchscreen control3.

Expression Photo (XP-860, XP-760 and XP-55) printers all boast Wi-Fi connectivity and use individual Epson Claria Photo HD Inks, ideal for photo enthusiasts who are looking to produce superior quality photographs that can last up to 300 years when using Epson media and stored in a photo album4. Photos can be printed on photo paper, thick card and CD/DVDs, while documents can be printed double-sided by all models. All three printers have an ISO print speed of 9.5 pages per minute for black and 9 pages per minute for colour5.

Simon Hanly, product manager, Epson UK says: “With most photos now being taken on a smartphone or tablet, there's a big demand for Wi-Fi printers capable of producing top quality photos without a computer, but a modern printer needs to do more than that. The XP-860, XP-760 and single-function XP-55 all excel with photographs while being just as adept with documents and creative printing.”

The all-in-one XP-760 and XP-860 printers add a scanner,10.9cm LCD screen, an auto open and close control panel and output tray, and Wi-Fi Direct, which creates a hotspot for mobile devices to connect to. Print straight from a memory card, or from a camera using Wireless PictBridge compatibility. The XP-860 also includes a duplex automatic document feeder and fax functions, while the XP-760 features auto power on – just send a job to the printer to turn it back on. The XP-760 can scan at 2400dpi while the XP-860 increases that resolution to 4800dpi.

All three Expression Photo products offer Epson Connect, which allows printing from anywhere in the world just by emailing photos and documents to the printer, or via a remote print driver. Epson Connect also includes the Epson iPrint app for easy printing over Wi-Fi from smartphones and tablets. Photos can also be printed directly from Facebook using the Epson Creative Print app6, or direct from mobile devices thanks to compatibility with Apple AirPrint7 and Google Cloud Print. Automatic Wi-Fi set-up makes it easy to connect these printers to a wireless network2.
