Epson launches Tested Media programme to set new standards in colour label printing
Detailed test results ensure ColorWorks C7500/C7500G users can make informed decisions when buying label media
25 September 2017 – Epson has launched a new Tested Media¹ programme, designed to provide users and resellers with detailed information about Epson-tested media solutions manufactured by industry-leading companies. Customers will be able to visit our dedicated Tested Media website and see clearly which media they need to achieve reliable, high-quality results when used with Epson ColorWorks C7500/G label printers and inks.
Media options tested range from economical plain paper to glossy photo-quality paper labels, as well as tags, receipts and super-durable films, among other products. Products from brands including EMAX, HERMA, Nakagawa, Smith and McLaurin and UPM Raflatac have been tested so far, for smudge and water resistance, print quality and suitability for particular applications. Further brands and products will be added as part of the ongoing testing process, to ensure the widest possible range of Tested Media for a large variety of popular applications.
The aim of Epson’s Tested Media website is to provide users with clear and detailed information on a wide range of third-party media for use with the ColorWorks C7500 and C7500G, allowing users to select exactly the right media for the task they have in mind. The site will also describe in detail Epson’s testing procedure for label media, to demonstrate the comprehensive nature of these tests.
Marc Tinkler, head of product marketing, Epson Europe, says, “Reliable, high-quality printers and bright, durable inks are only two thirds of the story when printing perfect labels. Media is just as important, and at Epson we believe we should test third-party media as carefully as we test our own, so that our customers can make informed choices and print great quality labels.”
