WIDE RANGE TO SUIT EVERY NEED

WIDE RANGE TO SUIT EVERY NEED

In response to demand from its customers, Epson has expanded its installation range to offer a wide choice of models to suit every need – from lightweight, 4,000-lumen projectors, to powerful 10,000-lumen models.

As well as business and education customers, Epson’s range caters for users in more challenging environments, such as factories, clubs and arenas. A selection of Epson projectors are dust and sand-proof, while others can operate in temperatures of up to 50°C.

Epson has also developed a selection of installation projectors that can function at practically any angle, including vertically – ideal for projection onto floors to create dynamic displays at events and in museums.

Every model is packed with features to minimise running costs, improve ease of use and deliver the best image quality.

WHAT IS COLOUR BRIGHTNESS OR COLOUR LIGHT OUTPUT (CLO)?

When watching your favourite film or playing your favourite game, colour is an important part of image quality; while some projectors produce images that can appear duller and more washed out, with Epson home cinema projectors, we measure the brightness of red, green and blue light. The value to you: ensuring high lumens in Colour Brightness or Colour Light Output (CLO) gives a brighter, more colourful viewing experience.

WHAT IS COLOUR BRIGHTNESS OR COLOUR LIGHT OUTPUT (CLO)?

YOU GET UP TO THREE TIMES BRIGHTER COLOURS WITH EPSON PROJECTORS²

Thanks to 3LCD technology, Epson projectors have significantly higher colour brightness than 1-chip DLP projectors because we measure both the white and colour light output. This creates vivid colours that are up to three times brighter², making images appear more vibrant.

3LCD TECHNOLOGY AND MORE

3LCD

Epson projectors use a 3LCD projection engine to deliver bright, clear images that are rich in detail and colour.

ACCURATE COLOUR THAT'S EASY ON THE EYES

1-chip DLP projectors use a rotating colour wheel that spins at a rapid speed, only displaying colours sequentially.

Epson's 3LCD system works differently, using mirrors to separate the white light from the projector lamp into red, green and blue light. Each of the three light colours is then passed through its own LCD panel and recombined using a prism before being projected onto the screen.

With 1-chip DLP technology, colour break-up or the ‘rainbow effect’ can sometimes be seen. This occurs when the eye perceives the individual colours, and is a result of the colours being projected sequentially by the colour wheel. Epson’s 3LCD technology avoids this by including all three basic colours in each pixel of the projection, delivering accurate colour that's easier on the eyes.

HIGH COLOUR BRIGHTNESS

Many manufacturers only quote the brightness of their projectors’ white light. This doesn’t give users the full picture, as many projectors’ coloured light is significantly dimmer than its white light.

Epson measures the brightness of both white light and coloured light. All Epson projectors deliver equally high white and Colour Light Output for rich, natural-looking colour.

HIGH CONTRAST AND DEEPER BLACKS

C2Fine 3LCD inorganic panels from Epson have an inorganic alignment layer and vertically-aligned liquid crystals. The result is smooth and uniform images with high contrast and deeper blacks.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

On average, 3LCD projectors are 25 percent more energy efficient than 1-chip DLP projectors³, helping to reduce energy bills and impact on the environment.

¹ Survey conducted by Futuresource Consulting Limited for the period from 2001 to 2012.

² Compared to leading 1-chip DLP home entertainment projectors. Epson 720p projectors are three times brighter; Epson 1080p projectors are consistently two and up to three times brighter. Based on NPD data, July 2011 through June 2012. Colour brightness (Colour Light Output) measured in accordance with IDMS 15.4. Colour brightness will vary depending on usage conditions.

³ Data source: ProjectorCentral.com Jan. 2012. Average of 1,122 shipping models for which the manufacturers provided lumens and total power data for all resolutions and brightness levels. Energy efficiency was measured as wattage per lumen. It was measured for both 3LCD and 1-chip projectors in each of five brightness segments. 3LCD projectors averaged less required electricity per lumen in each of the five segments.
