Epson media
Many layers are included in Genuine Epson papers to ensure the best quality for your print.
We include more than one resin coated layer, a base paper that increases the thickness and stiffness, a colour receiver layer to capture the ink and a glossy top layer to provide a fantastic photograph finish.
The surface coating on the media sometimes differs. It can either be a Polymer coating or a Nanoporus coating
Polymer coating
A Polymer coating is easy to use at high speed and has a large absorption capacity. It is also very stable over time. However, ink takes a bit longer to dry on a Polymer coating and it is not water resistant. It is also not compatible with Pigment ink
Nanoporus coating
A Nanoporus coating is instantly touch dry when the ink hits the page and is compatible with both dye ink and pigment ink. It has a very fast absorption rate and is water resistant. However, the longevity of print will be shorter as it is not as resistant to light and gas
Different papers have different surfaces to offer alternative finishes for your prints. Glossy surfaces are less course and more uniform to offer a true glossy photograph.![]() |
