Epson has introduced the Stylus Photo RX500, the first All In One device designed to appeal to the serious photo enthusiast providing premium-quality photo printing and copying, 2400dpi scanning and includes a built-in transparency unit and new software features.
Aimed at the photo enthusiast, the Stylus Photo RX500 produces premium quality photos at a market leading resolution of up to 5760 x 1440dpi on suitable media. The introduction of a new advanced MicroPiezo™ print head allows a smaller ink droplet for higher-definition photos in both PC-connected and standalone modes. A new dye-based ink type, optimised for performance on photo specialist media, produces highly durable photos and gives the best combination of ozone, light and water fastness.
The Stylus Photo RX500 also features separate ink cartridges and so offers a more economical solution to the home photo printing market by minimising cost per print.
The RX500 is the first All In One product to feature a MatrixCCD2400dpi scanner with integrated transparency unit. This allows photo enthusiasts to digitise analogue images at high resolution and produce high-definition copies and enlargements. The transparency unit allows scanning from positive or negative film - up to six frames of 35mm strip film or four frames of mounted film.
The index print function makes printing even easier, allowing users to quickly view thumbnail images, select the ones required and print copies automatically. The Stylus Photo RX500 also features a dedicated ‘print from memory card' button, for the automated printing of a selected range of single images up to A4, direct from the memory card.
