November 18 2003
As the Official Information System Partner for the IAAF since 1997, Epson provides essential services for the collection, processing and distribution of important event information, such as schedules and competition results, to the event operators and the media, all in real time.
The IAAF
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has been the governing body of athletics since it was founded in Stockholm in 1912. National athletic federations saw the need for a governing authority, for an athletic programme, for standardised technical equipment and world records.
The IAAF World Championships were held every four years from 1983-91 and began a biennial cycle in 1993. World Championship sites include Helsinki (1983), Rome (1987), Tokyo (1991), Stuttgart (1993), Göteborg, (1995), Athens (1997), Seville (1999), Edmonton (2001) and Paris (2003).
