DADS BATTLING IT OUT FOR THE
EPSON CELEBRITY DAD OF THE YEAR AWARD 2005
The race is on for the Epson Celebrity Dad of the Year Award 2005. Each year the list of top 10 dads sees the return of a few familiar faces, including Jonathon Ross, PM Tony Blair and Sir Bob Geldof, who repeatedly impress the public by balancing a hectic public life with the demands of parenting. This year however, sees one or two former favourites out of the running for the first time and replaced by some new faces who have become dads in the past year.
Recent media coverage in the run up to the award has helped raise the profile of several celebrity dads and encouraged support for them in the competition. For instance Jamie Oliver's current campaign for healthier school dinners ensures his place in the top 10 for the second year running. Alongside him this year is new entrant Vernon Kay, whose work for BBC Radio 1, ITV and Channel 4 ensures he is rarely far from public view.
The awards, which are now in their 3 rd year, are sponsored by Epson , the world's leading digital imaging company. Members of the public have swamped their website to register their votes at www.epson.co.uk/celebritydad since the nominations opened.
The dads currently going head to head to be crowned for the Epson Celebrity Dad of the Year Award 2005 include (in alphabetical order):

IT'S BACK… EPSON CELEBRITY DAD OF THE YEAR AWARD 2005
With Father's Day only a few months away, the time has come when Epson asks the public to vote for the celebrity dad of the year. The Epson Celebrity Dad of the Year Award , now in its third year, rewards the celebrity dad who throughout the year has demonstrated the ability to manage both his work and family life.
In the past, favourite nominees have ranged from David Beckham, Bob Geldof and Jamie Oliver to Prince Charles, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Poised to knock recent favourites off the top spot are a host of new celebrities who have gained the status of “dad”, putting them in the running for the prestigious title for the first time.
New celebrity dads joining the list this year will include former T4 presenter and current Radio 1 DJ Vernon Kay, after his model wife Tess Daly gave birth to their first child, Phoebe. Top comedian, Peter Kay; Southampton ace Jamie Redknapp and Coldplay front man Chris Martin are also likely to debut in the nominations.
Last year, the 2004 award was a joint victory as TV and radio personality Jono Coleman and Ground Force star Tommy Walsh came first in a long list of celebrity dads. Brian McFadden became the first winner back in 2003, at a time when Westlife were flying high in the UK charts. Since then, the British public has voted for an array of celebrity dads coming from fields including television, politics, music, entertainment and sporting backgrounds.

May 2005 - Launched today, Epson announced a new laser printer series that allow business users to upgrade from black and white to colour or vice-versa, as and when the need arises. Comprising of the Epson AcuLaser 2600N and the Epson AcuLaser C2600N, the products provide users with a unique, “future proof” solution that removes the need to buy a colour laser printer later.
The Epson AcuLaser 2600N is a mono laser printer that can function as a pure mono printer for every day print jobs. These printers can hold a combination of colour and black toner cartridges simultaneously, allowing users to print in black and white in situations when colour toner has run out. When holding 1 black toner cartridge, or 1 black toner cartridge and 3 colour cartridges, users can print up to 5000 pages. When holding 4 black toner cartridges, the printing capacity can be increased to up to 20,000 pages in black and white before needing to replace the toner cartridge.
