Epson® enhances range to deliver high quality, economy and durability to home photo printing with the Stylus Photo R200

The Epson Stylus Photo R200 features a unique 6-colour inkjet system, high resolution and new ink formula in individual cartridges, to deliver long lasting, quality prints

1 st February 2004 : Launched today, the Stylus Photo R200 extends Epson's Stylus Photo printer range to offer a cost-effective device that delivers premium quality, durable photographs. The device features a new 6-colour inkjet system for glossy, highly detailed photographs, an ultra-high print resolution for maximum definition and a new ink formula for long lasting quality prints. With the Stylus Photo R200, Epson is the first vendor to bring cost saving benefits of individual cartridges and CD/DVD printing 1 to the home and digital camera user at this price.

Responding to the growth of the digital camera market and the increased demand for printing photos at home, this printer has been designed for recent digital converts with an eye for premium quality at an affordable price. Epson's MicroPiezo TM print head offers users an optimised print resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi - the highest in the market, combined with dot sizes as small as 3 picolitres. With 90 nozzles used per colour the results provide fine detail, smoother gradations, vivid and detailed photographs at fast speeds - a 10x15" photo can be printed in approximately 36 seconds.

Epson's new 6-colour inkjet system utilises higher density inks to deliver detailed, vibrant and long-lasting photos. Epson has enhanced its ink formulation to improve colour reproduction and the overall durability of photos. This ink formulation provides the best level of durability in real life conditions - where exposure to air, light and water are all significant factors - on the widest range of media.

The Stylus Photo R200 includes 6 separate ink cartridges to maximise ink yield. Since these individual colour inks can be replaced at any time, economy is maximised thereby lowering the cost per print.

The Epson Stylus Photo R200 also allows users to print directly onto CDs and DVDs 1 . The device implements an easy-to-use front-loading system with a dedicated CD/DVD tray, to enable users to customise their media. The CD Print feature is supported by Epson Print CD software ensuring users can produce high-quality images on their CDs and DVDs very easily.

The device has added flexibility with the inclusion of standalone photo printing direct from an Epson digital camera 2 . Users simply plug their digital camera into the USB slot on the front of the printer and Epson's intuitive printing system takes care of the rest to deliver high-quality photos customised to the users specification.

The device is bundled with a range of software including PhotoQuicker 3.5, Print Image Framer Tool 2.1 and Print Image Framer Designer 2.1, allowing the user to customise their images, add effects and create powerful high-quality output.

Epson® increases quality and control standards with new colour measurement device

Epson's latest Stylus Photo 2100 model includes the new Eye-One® DISPLAY from GretagMacbeth, which allows the user to create individual display profiles for their monitor, enabling them to work with colour more accurately.

February 2004: The Epson Stylus Photo 2100 offers semi-pro and professional photographers new standards in photographic output. Based on Epson's commitment to building upon its established A3+ industry benchmark and following customer feedback, this latest model provides imaging functionality to meet the needs of today's photographers. The Stylus Photo 2100 combines a revolutionary inkjet system, high-resolution printing and flexible media handling to deliver premium quality photo prints that rival traditional silver-halide results.

The latest improvement of the popular Stylus Photo 2100 includes the new Eye-One DISPLAY from GretagMacbeth. This colour management solution allows the user to easily calibrate and profile all types of CRT or LCD monitors, making it the ideal solution for professional and semi-pro photographers who need consistent, accurate colour.

The Stylus Photo 2100 is the only A3+ pigment-ink printer on the market and utilises the new Epson UltraChromeT 7-colour inkjet system to deliver optimum output that lasts for over 75 years*. The inkjet system includes light-black as well as interchangeable matte black and photo black cartridges for greater control over colour images and superb black and white results on both matte and gloss media. Already an established standard amongst professional photographers, Epson UltraChrome ink is ideal for gallery display and professional re-sale.

The new inkjet system is supported by Epson's Micro PiezoT print heads with Epson Ultra Micro DotT technology that is capable of producing a droplet size of just 4 picolitres. This allows users to produce high-resolution output with pin-sharp text and images. Epson Variable-sized Droplet Technology means that speed is not compromised on high definition prints as small dots are used for areas of fine detail while larger dots are used on blocks of colour.

"The Stylus Photo 2100 has been designed to meet and exceed the needs and demands of photographers," says Richard Baylis, Sales and Marketing Manager, Consumer Products, Epson UK. "We are dedicated to providing our customers with high quality solutions - that is why we have included the GretagMacbeth solution, as we understand the need for colour accuracy in the digital darkroom."

For improved flexibility, the Stylus Photo 2100 offers increased media handling capabilities including be able to print on paper up to 1.3mm thick and A3+ in size. This desktop device also offers direct CD and DVD printing for customising the faces of removable media**.
