When trying to install the driver, I see the message "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. The system file cannot be specified". What should I do?

EXPLANATION:
This is a known issue in Windows Vista; please refer to the Knowledge base article KB940199 on Microsoft's Support Web Site. This issue has been addressed with separate hotfixes for Windows Vista (32-bit) and Windows Vista x64; the hotfixes have also been included in Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (KB936332).
If you receive this message if you try to install a USB device on a Windows Vista-based computer that was upgraded from Windows XP, please refer to the Knowledge base article KB940267 on Microsoft's Support Web Site.
