Solution

EXPLANATION:

Epson makes drivers available to download from the Support section of the Epson website. Open the Support section for your product and make sure the correct operating system is selected. In the Drivers & Support section, open Drivers & Software and check if EPSON TWAIN or EPSON Scan are listed. If neither of these scanning software files are listed with your operating system selection, then Epson scanner driver support is not available for your product.

SOLUTION:

It may be possible to use your Epson scanner or All-In-One without an updated Epson scanner driver as basic TWAIN support for scanners may be included with your computer's operating system. Third party scanner drivers may also be available.

Windows

Microsoft Windows includes Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) support for many scanners and cameras. To check if you can use your scanner this way, connect it to your computer and open Control Panel > Scanners and Cameras. If you see an icon for your scanner in the Scanners and Cameras window, then scanning support is available. Double-click on the scanner icon and follow the on-screen prompts.

Some Microsoft programs have basic TWAIN support and have a 'From Scanner or Camera' or 'Import' option in their menus, examples include Microsoft Paint and Microsoft Office Word or Works Word Processor. The option you may see in these programs and other TWAIN-compliant software such as Adobe Photoshop is "WIA Epson".

Mac OS X

Mac OS X includes basic support for many scanners and cameras through its Image Capture application. To check if you can use your scanner this way, connect it to your computer and turn it on, then open Image Capture from the Applications folder. Standard OS X programs such as Preview, as well as commercially-available TWAIN-compliant image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, may also allow you to directly import images from a scanner. Look for a 'Import from Scanner' option in an application's File menu. For more information on using Image Capture, please click here for Apple's support article.

VueScan

For more advanced use from your scanner, you may be able to use the VueScan software from Hamrick; it supports Mac OS X 10.3 and higher and Windows 95 and higher. Please visit the Hamrick web site for more information.
