Which film types are supported by scanners equipped with Digital ICE?

EXPLANATION:
The following scanners and the accompanying Epson Scan software are equipped with the DIGITAL ICE Technology feature which removes stubborn dust or scratch marks from film and slides:
- Perfection 4490
- Perfection 4870
- Perfection 4990
- Perfection V500
- Perfection V600
- Perfection V700
- Perfection V750 Pro

DIGITAL ICE is also supported on Reflective media (e.g. photos), with the exception of the Perfection 4490 and V500 models which are equipped with DIGITAL ICE Lite, suitable for scanning film and slides only - these models cannot be used to scan Reflective media with DIGITAL ICE. As an alternative you can use the Dust Removal feature for Reflective media. |

All Reflective media is supported, provided the defect is on the actual media (e.g. a developed photo), and not a print of a defective film. |
DIGITAL ICE is best used for fixing surface defects, scratches, smudges, and fingerprints which can appear in the final image.
Do not use DIGITAL ICE Technology to scan photos, film, or slides that do not contain dust or scratch marks; otherwise your scanned image may be distorted or blurred.
