Epson display imaging power at photo exhibition
Epson's dedication and involvement with the art world was once again proven with the sponsorship of the "Take a View - Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008" competition. Not only did we back the exhibition, but the winner's images were printed using the new Epson Stylus Pro 9900 large format printer - a technological innovation that really did justice to the photographs displayed.
As specialists within the world of imaging and also keen supporters of the art world, Epson are constantly looking to combine these two areas. So what better way to do this than through the sponsorship of a photography competition where the winning entries are printed using our latest large format printer?
The "Take a View - Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008" competition saw Epson join forces with Bayeaux, the professional photo lab. The winners' photographs were created on the new Epson Stylus Pro 9900 large format printer - the ideal platform to really show off the impact, colour and depth of these images, allowing them to be displayed in their full glory.
Utilising our latest inkjet technology, the ground-breaking Stylus Pro 9900 also incorporates the new Epson UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink. Professional photographers will clearly see the difference this makes to their work, as orange and green ink are added, delivering the widest colour range available today.
Now in its second year, this UK competition has already gained prestige and interest within the photography community as thousands of participants from around the world were challenged to capture the diversity and beauty of the British landscape - covering urban, rural and conceptual environments.
More than a hundred, stunning examples of the finalists work were displayed from November 2008 to January 2009 at a free exhibition at London's National Theatre. Leading landscape photographer Charlie Waite, who was heading up the judging panel , commented 'The National Theatre is an amazing venue and the support we have received from Epson will help to ensure that the winning images are seen at their very best'. Which as imaging specialists, is exactly the type of endorsement that we welcome from professional photographers.
