Epson adds artistic value to Tomaszewski's photos

Renowned photographer Tomasz Tomaszewki's newest exhibition "A Stone's Throw Away: the Polish countryside in the artist's lens" is a further example of Epson's ongoing involvement in the arts world.

The photo essay is a collection of images from the Polish countryside, reflecting the people that live and work there. And in terms of utilising Epson technology, our Stylus Pro 7880 was the large format printer used to produce the photos.

So once again Epson is proving its passion and devotion to the art world by supporting this remarkable, artistic project. The result of this partnership is an exhibition of photographer Tomasz Tomaszewski's works entitled "A Stone's Throw Away: the Polish countryside in the artist's lens" which reflects impressions of the modern Polish countryside and its people.

This unique and often gritty photo essay is Tomaszewski's interpretation of post-state-owned farms, which involved him travelling all over the country and rural areas for inspiration. His determination and sensitivity allowed him to reach places and people pictured in the photographs, and the resulting images capture real people plus a hidden layer of expression that lies beyond the surface.

So how were Epson involved in the artistic process?

In order to faithfully reproduce the unique feel of these black-and-white photos, all copies were created on Epson Traditional Photo Paper. To print the photos, the Epson Stylus Pro 7880 large-format printer with UltraChrome™ K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta technology was used. Combined, these were the ideal media to truly do justice to Tomaszewski's work.

The touring exhibition visited Warsaw Cracow, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk during 2009.
